Serena Williams appears in Lincoln’s campaign for the 2025 Navigator, but Ford describes her as a longtime Lincoln ambassador and owner—not as someone newly hired for this ad. Ford calls the campaign “Letting Go” and says it showcases BlueCruise, Lincoln’s hands-free driver-assist technology for highway driving. A third-party commercial index lists a Williams spot as “Mic Drop”; that is the index’s title, not Ford’s stated campaign name.
What Ford says about Williams and the campaign
Ford’s campaign announcement presents Williams as a longtime Lincoln ambassador and owner. It does not describe a new endorsement deal or say when her relationship with the brand began. The distinction matters: “hired to sell” is a headline-style interpretation, while the company’s account is that an existing brand ambassador took part in a campaign for its flagship SUV.
Ford calls the campaign “Letting Go.” Its focus is BlueCruise, a driver-assistance feature intended to make highway driving easier by allowing hands-free driving on eligible roads while the driver remains responsible for the vehicle. The campaign is advertising, not an independent evaluation of how the system performs.
Why the ad may also appear as “Mic Drop”
iSpot, a third-party commercial index, lists a 2025 Lincoln Navigator television spot featuring Williams under the title “Mic Drop.” Ford’s announcement uses “Letting Go” for the campaign. The available listing does not establish “Mic Drop” as the official campaign name, so the two labels should not be treated as interchangeable.

How the campaign was distributed
Ford said the campaign included two 30-second spots and one 50-second spot, distributed across linear and connected television, digital media, social media and out-of-home advertising. Those are the formats and channels Ford described; they do not indicate how many people saw the ads or whether the campaign changed sales.
What the 2025 Navigator brings to the campaign
The advertised vehicle is the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, which Ford introduced as Lincoln’s flagship SUV. The company highlighted a 48-inch panoramic display, a Lincoln Rejuvenate multi-sensory experience and a split liftgate and tailgate. Lincoln’s product material also lists a four-year BlueCruise trial for the 2025 Navigator; that is a trial period, not evidence that every later model year has the same offer.

Ford’s published specifications for the 2025 model give every version a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 rated at 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, standard four-wheel drive, and adaptive suspension with continuously controlled damping. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. The ad’s BlueCruise message concerns driver assistance on the highway; it should not be confused with a claim about the SUV’s power or towing performance.
Navigator or Navigator L: the practical size difference
Lincoln’s 2025 model information distinguishes the standard-wheelbase Navigator from the longer Navigator L. The L adds length and cargo space behind the third row, a useful comparison for buyers who expect to carry passengers and luggage at the same time.

Ford and Lincoln state a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds for the 2025 Navigator when equipped with the available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. That figure is package-dependent; it should not be read as the capacity of every Navigator configuration.

Ford’s positioning for its flagship SUV
In Ford’s 2024 announcement of the all-new Navigator, Lincoln president Dianne Craig described the vehicle as “the flagship of the Lincoln brand” and “our ultimate expression of sanctuary.” She also said it “can become a home away from home and a third space that rejuvenates clients in an entirely new way on and off the road.” Those are Lincoln’s brand-positioning words, rather than independent findings about the vehicle.
The same model-year care applies to other specifications: Lincoln’s current Navigator page includes later model-year material, including 2027 content, so it should not be used to assign later details to the SUV promoted in this campaign.
