For Selena Gomez’s look, nail artist Tom Bachik used Essie Special Effects Liquid Sunrise, a deep beige polish with pink and green iridescent pearls that create a glowy satin-chrome effect, according to Vogue.
What are toasted nails?
The defining feature is the finish: a nude or other chosen base shade with golden, bronzed warmth and a subtle reflective sheen. Bachik described the effect to Glamour as “Think golden, bronzed, and toasted.” The shimmer adds dimension while keeping the manicure understated—“Like makeup for your fingers,” as he put it.
On Gomez, the reported polish was Essie Special Effects Liquid Sunrise. Vogue describes it as a deep beige with pink and green iridescent pearls, producing a glowy satin-chrome look. It can be worn on its own or layered over another shade.

- Paint on two coats of Essie Special Effects Liquid Sunrise.
- Finish with a high-gloss topcoat.
That is the artist’s reported method, not an independently tested wear recommendation. The coverage does not establish how long the manicure lasts or whether Liquid Sunrise is currently in stock.
How to customize the toasted effect
The named polish is one route, not a requirement. Bachik told Glamour that “you can use these types of effects over any color to ‘toast’ your favorite fall shades.” For a quiet result, start with a sheer nude. For more color, choose a warm fall shade and add a light-catching effect.

Toasted nails versus toasted-pumpkin nails
The similar names refer to different Gomez manicures. The toasted effect in Vogue’s coverage is the beige, iridescent Liquid Sunrise look. Allure separately reports a burnt-orange manicure called “toasted pumpkin,” using PLA Gel Polish 262, Trick or Treat Yo’ Self. The orange gel shade is not the Liquid Sunrise polish.

What is known about the trend now?
Vogue’s and Glamour’s coverage of the look was published in September 2025. Those articles document Bachik’s description and Gomez’s reported polish choice; they do not establish how popular the manicure is in fall 2026, current retail availability, or current pricing. Check the shade name and stock with the retailer or salon before planning around that exact product.
