What did Gomez say about her fascination with Cobain?
In remarks quoted by Loudwire on February 26, 2024, Gomez said her mother played different kinds of music while she was growing up and that she “kind of got obsessed.” She added that she knew “a little too much.”
She changed her hair to look like him
Gomez said she dyed and cut her hair to resemble Cobain. Her recollection makes the fascination more than a passing musical interest: she tried to echo his look as well as spending time with his work.

She repeatedly watched his interviews, performances and a documentary
“I would rewatch his interviews, I would watch his performances, I’ve seen his documentary like 12 times,” Gomez said, according to Loudwire. The number is her personal recollection; the reports do not identify the documentary by title, so it cannot be named with confidence.
What Cobain connection did the interview make to Nirvana?
Cobain was Nirvana’s frontman. Loudwire’s coverage also points to the band’s album Nevermind as context for Cobain’s musical legacy; it was not an album Gomez specifically endorsed in the reported exchange.
