What is the Sonic and DC crossover?
The collaboration pairs characters from SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog with DC’s Justice League across comics and consumer products. The first announced comic was written by Ian Flynn, then known for writing the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. DC originally planned the five issues to run monthly from March through July 2025. DC’s catalog dates issue #1 to March 19, 2025, so that schedule is a past release plan, not an upcoming publication date. DC and SEGA’s announcement says the crossover was teased on Batman Day, September 21, three days before the formal announcement.

The original 2024 announcement described a planned global collection across categories including apparel, toys, and collectibles, with a late-2025 target. It did not name specific products or retailers. On May 5, 2025, JAKKS Pacific announced a licensed toy line developed with SEGA of America and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Its stated formats were articulated action figures, vehicles, and plush, with Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman among the featured characters. JAKKS said the products were planned for shelves and online retailers in Fall 2025; that announcement does not confirm current stock or provide a complete catalog of items. Its first issue is listed as a 20-page, Teen-rated comic written by Ian Flynn and pencilled by Adam Bryce Thomas, with a May 6, 2026 on-sale date and a U.S. price of $3.99.
