CBS News reported that it obtained a prison-record intake photo of Sean “Diddy” Combs, taken when he arrived at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey on October 30, 2025. The image’s provenance is confirmed by CBS; the available reporting does not establish whether it is the same image used with the headline “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Seen in Prison for the First Time, Months After Conviction: Photo.”
What the prison photo shows—and what is confirmed
CBS News identified the image as an intake photo made for prison records when Combs arrived at FCI Fort Dix. CBS said it first obtained the image in its November 2025 report. That makes it a prison-record image, rather than a courtroom photograph or an archival image, according to CBS. CBS News, November 2025

Where Combs is serving his sentence
The Associated Press reported on October 31, 2025, that Combs had been transferred to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to serve the remainder of his sentence. AP described the sentence at that time as 50 months. That is a dated report, not confirmation of his current location or projected release date. Associated Press, October 31, 2025

- From music mogul to controversy, Sean Combs' life is full of highs and lows, but the central mystery remains: What did Diddy do?
What Combs was convicted of
In its April 9, 2026, report on appeal arguments, AP said Combs had been convicted in July 2025 on two federal Mann Act counts involving transportation across state lines for sexual activity. He was acquitted of sex-trafficking and racketeering charges. The convictions should not be confused with the charges on which he was acquitted. Associated Press, April 9, 2026
AP reported that a three-judge appeals panel heard oral arguments on April 9 and did not immediately rule. That report establishes the appeal’s status on that date, not its outcome now. The same AP account quoted Judge Arun Subramanian at sentencing: “Mr. Combs, you’re being sentenced for the offenses of conviction, NOT the crimes he was acquitted of. However, under law, the court ‘shall consider’ the nature of the offense and characteristics of the defendant.”

What reporting has said about prison life
A separate CBS report, drawing on prison documents and attributed sources, described a chapel assistant work assignment, Combs’s placement in the Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program, and a disciplinary matter concerning an unauthorized multi-person phone call. These are details reported by CBS, not a comprehensive or independently verified account of his day-to-day conditions. CBS News, updated November 10, 2025
CBS also quoted Combs’s publicist, Juda Engelmayer, describing his work as follows: “He works in the chapel library, where he describes the environment as warm, respectful, and rewarding.” That is the publicist’s characterization; it should not be read as an independent assessment of Fort Dix or prison conditions generally.
