Wigdor, told reporters that she was “in a good place.” That was Wigdor’s account of her reaction—not a direct statement from Ventura.
What did Cassie Ventura’s lawyer say?
Speaking to reporters outside court on July 2, 2025, Wigdor said, “She’s in a good place.” ABC News also reported that he described Ventura as “at peace” with the verdict. Both descriptions were attributed to her lawyer; the report did not quote Ventura speaking directly.

Wigdor said Ventura was pleased Combs had been found guilty of federal crimes and held responsible. He also acknowledged that they would have preferred guilty verdicts on the sex-trafficking and racketeering charges, while recognizing the prosecution’s burden to prove those charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
What was the verdict in Combs’s federal trial?
The jury found Combs guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. The convictions were connected to Ventura and another former girlfriend who testified under the pseudonym “Jane.” The result was a split verdict: the two convictions remained even though the jury acquitted Combs of the other charges.

Ventura was a key prosecution witness. Her testimony and the allegations described during the trial are distinct from the jury’s specific findings; the convictions were for transportation to engage in prostitution, not sex trafficking.

Ventura filed a civil suit against Combs in November 2023, and it settled the following day. ABC News reported that Ventura testified the settlement amount was $20 million. Combs’s attorney said the settlement was not an admission of wrongdoing. The settlement is separate from the jury’s verdict in the federal criminal case.
