The series’ season 2 cliffhanger led into season 3, which premiered January 28, 2026, and concluded March 4, 2026. Paramount+ has confirmed the fourth season, but has not announced its premiere date or production schedule in the renewal announcement.
What happened at the end of season 2?
The season 2 finale left the characters facing sharply different fates. In Paramount+’s retrospective, Maddie claws her way back to life, while Simon becomes trapped in a limbo state between life and death. Wally says goodbye to Maddie, leaving his decision about crossing over unresolved at that point. Xavier, meanwhile, starts seeing ghosts after a near-death experience. Paramount+’s season 3 guide describes these developments as the setup for the next season.
Those cliffhanger questions were season 3 storylines, not evidence that the show had been renewed. Paramount+ made the renewal decisions afterward.
Was School Spirits renewed after the cliffhanger?
Yes. Paramount+ renewed School Spirits for a third season in March 2025. The season premiered on January 28, 2026, with three episodes, followed by weekly releases, according to the service’s season 3 guide.
