Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Dan Levy and Annie Murphy reunited onstage at the Primetime Emmy Awards on September 15, 2024. It was the last documented reunion of the four principal Schitt’s Creek stars before O’Hara died on January 30, 2026—not proof that no later appearance involving any of the cast took place.
What happened at the 2024 Emmys?
Dan and Eugene Levy were co-hosting the ceremony when they welcomed Murphy and O’Hara onstage shortly before the final award. O’Hara then presented Outstanding Comedy Series, bringing the ceremony to its close. The sequence was a reunion of the four performers best known as the Rose family: O’Hara as Moira, Eugene Levy as Johnny, Dan Levy as David and Murphy as Alexis.
PinkNews reported the reunion the next day, September 16, 2024. TIME’s ceremony recap also described the moment as part of the show’s closing stretch.
How the introduction played out
Dan Levy greeted Murphy as his “TV sister.” Murphy played along with the introduction, saying, “Well, they said the shining star of Schitt’s Creek is going to present the final award of the night, so…” Eugene Levy clarified that Murphy was not the star they meant. Murphy then introduced O’Hara as “our favourite TV mom.”

As O’Hara presented the nominees, she joked: “No, must we? Must we really choose just one winner? When all the nominees have done such wonderful, hilarious work?” The winner was Hacks, according to TIME.
Why “final reunion” needs a qualification
O’Hara died on January 30, 2026, at age 71, as reported by the Associated Press and recorded by the Television Academy. The 2024 Emmys appearance is the last documented reunion of all four principal stars before her death. That wording matters: it describes what is documented, rather than claiming the cast never appeared together afterward.

O’Hara also attended the 2025 Emmy Awards, according to the Associated Press, but that was not the four-star Schitt’s Creek stage reunion described here. A 2026 Emmy tribute involving some cast members is a separate event, not the 2024 reunion.

The 2024 appearance was an onstage reunion and award presentation, not a repeat of the show’s Emmy-winning night. Schitt’s Creek won nine Emmys overall, PinkNews reported in 2024. The Television Academy’s record lists O’Hara’s 2020 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series win for the show; her profile lists two Emmy wins overall.
