During The View’s 6,000th episode on July 19, 2024, Joy Behar’s phone began playing Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.” Behar silenced the call, then co-host Sara Haines reached over to take the phone. The interruption came less than five minutes into the show, according to TheWrap.
What happened during the 6,000th episode?
The phone rang shortly after the first segment began, as the co-hosts were discussing a topic. TheWrap reported that the interruption came less than ten seconds into that discussion and less than five minutes into the broadcast. Behar’s ringtone was “Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae Jepsen’s 2011 hit.
Behar silenced the call and reacted, “Oh my god.” Haines then reached over to take the phone. The available account does not say that Haines silenced the initial ring, nor does it explain why the phone rang.
TheWrap’s July 19, 2024 report covers the moment. ABC’s cast biography identifies Haines as a co-host of The View.
