Thursday, July 24, 2025, brought Hall H appearances by Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and The Toxic Avenger, alongside Disney television programming for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 and a world-premiere screening of Alien: Earth. The clearest film news was about animatronics and a planned release date—not a major Marvel or DC movie-slate presentation. Here are the day’s most notable confirmed details, with scheduled events distinguished from what was reported from the panels.
What were the biggest movie reveals on Thursday?
There was no official ranking of Comic-Con’s announcements. These film highlights stand out for their Hall H prominence and the concrete details reported from the day’s presentations.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 adds more animatronics and locations
At the opening-day Hall H panel, director Emma Tammi said the sequel has three times as many animatronics as the first film. Josh Hutcherson discussed multiple Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza locations and new animatronic characters, including Mangle, according to the Associated Press’s Day 1 report. The film was scheduled to open December 5, 2025. The franchise is based on the Five Nights at Freddy’s video game.
The Toxic Avenger was presented as an unrated release
The reboot also appeared in Hall H. The Associated Press reported that distributor Cineverse planned an unrated wide release for August 29, 2025. That is a historical release plan announced at the time, not a forthcoming date.

Marvel and DC did not present major film slates
The Associated Press reported that Marvel and DC sat out film-slate presentations. That meant no major Marvel movie-slate news and no announcement about what would follow the Superman film relaunch in those presentations; it does not mean the brands were wholly absent from the convention. The official Thursday program included a Marvel game panel, and AP noted a Fantastic Four: First Steps attraction.
Which TV shows were on the Thursday program?
Disney Entertainment Television’s pre-event announcement identified two Thursday Hall H events. Its release establishes the planned program and distribution details, but a scheduled panel or screening listing by itself does not confirm additional panel-only reveals.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2
A Thursday 11 a.m. Hall H panel was scheduled to offer a look ahead at season 2. Disney said the season was planned to premiere on Disney+ in December 2025. Those details come from the company’s 2025 San Diego Comic-Con programming announcement; they should not be mistaken for verified trailer footage or other specific panel disclosures.
Alien: Earth had a world-premiere screening and Q&A
Disney’s announcement listed a Thursday Hall H world premiere and Q&A for FX’s Alien: Earth. The release described a mysterious spacecraft crash on Earth and a young woman and tactical soldiers confronting a threat. It announced availability on FX, Hulu, and Hulu on Disney+ for U.S. bundle subscribers, with Disney+ internationally. Those were the announced distribution plans, not a statement of current catalog availability.

What belongs to later in the convention?
Not every Disney title associated with the 2025 convention was part of Day 1. Disney’s program announcement placed the King of the Hill season 14 world-premiere panel on Friday, July 25, and said the season was coming to Hulu that summer. It is useful context for the convention, but not a Thursday reveal.
