Sam Kerr revealed a short bob in February 2024, replacing the familiar ponytail she had worn throughout much of her football career. The change was reported on 23 February, while she was recovering from ACL surgery and ahead of the Matildas’ Olympic qualifying matches against Uzbekistan.
What Sam Kerr’s new look was
PerthNow and 7NEWS reported that Kerr had cut her signature low ponytail into a short bob. Both described the reveal on Instagram Stories. PerthNow’s 23 February 2024 report said the selfie was taken in an elevator and that Kerr captioned it “Hairs (sic) gone”. 7NEWS reported the same-day reveal, emphasizing the contrast with the ponytail associated with her career.
When the haircut was revealed
The reports placed the haircut reveal during Kerr’s recovery from surgery for a ruptured ACL and before the Matildas’ Olympic qualifying matches against Uzbekistan. The change was a February 2024 news event; those reports do not establish what hairstyle Kerr wears now.
