Sam Kerr’s family attended West Ham United’s match against Leicester City at Perth’s HBF Park on September 1, 2024, to support Kristie Mewis, Kerr’s wife today. PerthNow reported that Kerr’s parents, brother Daniel and other relatives watched from the front row, then described Mewis greeting family members after the game.
Who attended the match at HBF Park?
In a report published on September 1, 2024, PerthNow’s Taylor Renouf said Kerr’s mother, father, brother Daniel and other relatives were at the West Ham United–Leicester City fixture. The family sat in the front row to cheer Mewis, who was playing for West Ham during the club’s Perth tour. The match was part of the Perth International Football Cup. PerthNow’s match report is the source for those attendance details.
What happened after the game?
PerthNow reported that Mewis hugged Kerr’s mother and waved to Kerr’s nieces and nephews after the match. These are details from PerthNow’s account; West Ham’s separate club report does not independently confirm those interactions.
What Mewis said about being in Perth
West Ham United’s official report on Mewis’s Perth tour said she visited the Sam Kerr Football Centre. Speaking about the visit, Mewis said: “She is obsessed with Perth and her family are out here, so I’ve managed to catch up with them and it is nice being around everything she loves.” The comment referred to her time in Perth generally, not specifically to the HBF Park match. West Ham United published the report on August 31, 2024.

Why the 2024 report called Mewis Kerr’s fiancée
PerthNow’s original headline described Mewis as Kerr’s fiancée, reflecting their relationship at the time. Published reports now describe them as married: The Australian Women’s Weekly reported on January 15, 2026, that they married in a private Swan Valley ceremony on New Year’s Eve, and Chelsea’s official site also confirmed the marriage after the club’s final match of 2025. The Australian Women’s Weekly’s report and Chelsea’s interview with Kerr provide the later updates.
