Crown Resorts announced that the Urban Food District opened on 14 February 2026. Its December 2025 announcement said the precinct was expected to create 100 local jobs; that was Crown’s forecast, not a confirmed count of jobs created. Crown Resorts’ precinct announcement describes the development.
What is on the Saigon Story menu?
Crown’s current venue page describes Vietnamese street food including pho, crispy banh mi and cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee). It does not establish that every dish described in the pre-opening coverage remains available.

In a 13 December 2025 preview, PerthNow reported that Lam had settled on a planned 18-item menu, with small snacks, banh mi and bowls. The report named a “king of Banh Mis,” fried rice-paper rolls with Shark Bay prawns and pork, and bun cha Hanoi. These were launch plans reported before the precinct opened, not a confirmation of today’s menu. Check Crown’s listing or contact the venue for current items.
Who is Jenny Lam?
Lam is a former MasterChef contestant and the owner of Perth businesses Bunn Mee and Phat Lon, which PerthNow described as preceding Saigon Story. Her Crown venue is her latest restaurant in that account. Lam told PerthNow that seeing the new counter and the kitchen entrance made the project feel real; her comments conveyed the excitement of moving from imagining the space to seeing how the team would serve food in it.

Crown’s December 2025 announcement quoted Lam describing her aim to share bold, nostalgic flavours and create an experience reflecting the precinct’s energy and diversity. The launch story also noted her cookbook, Eat Like a Viet, as a separate way to explore Vietnamese cooking at home.
