During “Nobody’s Son,” she sang a lyric with the F-word twice. TV Insider reported that the lyric aired uncensored on NBC’s East Coast broadcast and its Peacock simulcast, while West Coast viewers reported that it was muted.
What Sabrina Carpenter sang on ‘SNL’
Carpenter performed “Manchild” and “Nobody’s Son,” songs from her album Man’s Best Friend, according to TV Insider. In the bridge of “Nobody’s Son,” she sang the lyric “He sure f***ed me up” twice.
The Associated Press preview identified the October 18 episode as Carpenter’s first time hosting, in addition to her musical-guest appearance.
Was the F-word bleeped on every broadcast?
No, according to TV Insider’s account. It reported that the East Coast NBC broadcast and Peacock simulcast carried the lyric uncensored. The same report said West Coast viewers reported hearing the words muted in their version. That West Coast detail is based on viewer reports; the account does not establish which feeds or affiliates muted the lyric.
Why did the versions differ?
No explanation for the reported difference is established in the available reporting. It does not confirm whether the variation resulted from a production decision, a local broadcast feed, or another cause. Peacock’s October 20, 2025 episode recap covers Carpenter’s sketches and performances, but does not explain the broadcast variation.
