The chain is straightforward—video files on the VPS, an encoder that sends them to YouTube Live, and a stream key that authorizes the connection—but a reliable 24/7 broadcast also depends on YouTube eligibility, a stable network, protected credentials, and a plan for stream interruptions and sessions longer than 12 hours.
How the VPS-to-YouTube setup works
A Contabo VPS is a remote server that stays available independently of your home computer. For this workflow, the components are:
- Hindi video files or another playlist source accessible to the VPS.
- A software encoder running on the VPS to play the material and send a continuous video feed.
- YouTube Live’s ingest URL and your channel’s stream key, entered in the encoder.
YouTube’s encoder setup guide says to enter the Live server URL and stream key into the encoder. The cited guidance does not document a built-in YouTube feature that turns a playlist into a continuous broadcast, nor does it validate a particular playlist application or Contabo setup script. You will need an encoder workflow that can play your files in sequence or loop a playlist and remain running on the VPS.
Check YouTube eligibility before configuring the VPS
YouTube’s current encoder setup guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it and confirm access before scheduling a launch.

In YouTube Studio, create or select the live stream and copy its server URL and stream key into the encoder configuration. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not include it in screenshots, public scripts, or logs. Keep configuration files private and restrict access to the VPS account that runs the encoder.
Configure the encoder for a stable feed
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP, for streaming to YouTube Live. Choose a software encoder suitable for unattended playback on a server, then configure it to send the playlist output to the YouTube ingest URL using the stream key. The exact application and its interface are not established by the cited sources, so check its documentation for playlist looping, automatic restart, and secure handling of credentials rather than relying on an unverified one-click script.

Use a measured video profile
For a 1080p30 H.264 stream, YouTube’s encoder-settings guidance lists a 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended ingest bitrate. These are YouTube’s settings recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular Contabo plan will sustain that outbound rate. Use constant bitrate encoding where available and set the keyframe interval to the recommended two seconds. Select a resolution and frame rate your files and encoder can sustain continuously; a higher bitrate increases network demand.
Verify the playlist behavior
Before relying on the stream, check that the encoder can move from one Hindi video to the next without ending the live session, and that it behaves as intended at the end of the playlist. Test the actual files for compatible playback and confirm the outgoing feed in YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring stream health.

Choose a Contabo plan for sustained outbound streaming
Contabo’s documentation lists different port speeds by plan and describes its traffic policy as subject to fair usage. Its support information says exceptionally high or disruptive usage may lead to throttling. Do not interpret a traffic allowance or “unlimited” wording as a promise that full port speed is available indefinitely.
Before choosing a plan, check its current port speed and the applicable traffic terms on Contabo’s own pages. Compare the plan’s CPU, RAM, and storage with the encoder’s needs and the size of your local video library. The available documentation does not establish a minimum CPU or RAM specification for this exact Hindi playlist workload; validate the selected encoder under sustained load rather than assuming one VPS size fits all.

- Estimate outbound use from the actual streaming bitrate and the hours you expect to broadcast.
- Allow for the fact that a 24/7 stream is ongoing outbound traffic, not an occasional upload.
- After launch, monitor the encoder’s bitrate, the VPS network, and Contabo’s outgoing-traffic information; investigate instability or throttling before raising the encoder bitrate.
Launch, monitor, and plan for interruptions
- Start the encoder in a test or private/unlisted setup appropriate to your channel, then check the preview in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Confirm that the video, audio, bitrate, and stream health are acceptable before making the broadcast public.
- Keep an eye on the encoder process and VPS resource and network use after launch. Configure the VPS-side process manager or equivalent operating setup to restart a failed encoder, if supported by your chosen tools, and verify that a restart reconnects correctly.
- If YouTube or the network drops the feed, check the encoder’s connection status and stream health, then reconnect using the same stream configuration. Do not assume a reconnect preserves an uninterrupted broadcast or archive.
YouTube’s cited encoder setup guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not settle what happens to a continuous session beyond that duration. For a 24/7 broadcast, verify current YouTube behavior around session restarts and archives; do not plan on one encoder session running indefinitely or promise viewers a single 24-hour archive.

Only stream videos and audio you have the rights and permissions to broadcast. A playlist being publicly available, devotional, educational, or in Hindi does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it. Check the status of every video, including music and footage, and review YouTube’s current copyright and live-stream rules before going on air. Separately, permission to broadcast material does not guarantee monetization or determine how YouTube evaluates a channel’s originality; do not treat a continuous playlist as a shortcut around those rules.

Troubleshooting a VPS playlist stream
