Rosa Mendes retired from WWE in 2017 after roughly a decade with the company. Her WWE career included in-ring performances, managing, reality television and backstage interviewing. She said motherhood and changing priorities influenced her decision to leave; although she announced nutrition and fitness projects at the time, reliable current information does not establish what she is doing in 2026 or whether those ventures are still active.
How Rosa Mendes entered WWE
Mendes, whose birth name is Milena Roucka, first came to WWE through the 2006 Diva Search. WWE reported that she reached the final eight and, after being eliminated, received a developmental contract. The contest led to a long relationship with the company, though her eventual WWE role would extend beyond wrestling matches.
Her WWE debut and on-screen persona
WWE’s 2017 retirement interview traces Mendes’ on-screen introduction to the December 29, 2008 episode of Raw. In the storyline, she appeared as a fan who jumped the barricade to attack Melina, acting out an obsession with Beth Phoenix. That is WWE’s account of a scripted character moment, not evidence of an actual fan attack. WWE’s retirement interview recalls the scene.
More than an in-ring performer
Mendes’ career is notable for the variety of roles she took on. FOX Sports’ WWE biography describes her as an in-ring performer, a manager of Primo and Epico during their tag-team title run, a cast member on E!’s Total Divas, and a SmackDown backstage interviewer. WWE also identifies her as a Slammy Award winner.

Those roles gave her a presence in several parts of WWE programming: competing, supporting a tag team, appearing in a reality series and interviewing talent backstage. The available accounts do not establish her as a WWE champion. In her retirement interview, Mendes said she had once dreamed of becoming champion, but that goal was not part of her WWE accomplishments.
A career highlight she remembered
In the 2017 WWE interview, Mendes named performing in Costa Rica in front of her family as a personal career highlight. She recalled an arena audience of 15,000. That number is her recollection, not an independently verified attendance figure.

Why she retired from WWE
WWE announced Mendes’ retirement in February 2017, describing her tenure as a decade. Mendes said that becoming a mother changed her priorities, and that the company’s travel demands made it difficult to be the mother and business owner she wanted to be. The decision was about the life she wanted outside wrestling as well as the demands of remaining with WWE.
The projects she announced after retirement
In the same 2017 interview, Mendes described plans to focus on nutrition and self-care through Totally Fit Mama. She said the project would include meal plans and live cooking videos, and that she was working with strength and conditioning specialist Rob MacIntyre on an at-home workout app. She also announced a cookbook, Totally Fit Mama: Out of the Ring and into the Kitchen, saying preorders on Amazon were expected soon.

Reliable current information does not settle Mendes’ occupation or activities in 2026. A later profile summarized an October 2022 interview in which she reportedly entertained the possibility of returning for charity, and also described her as a social-media influencer. Those older remarks do not confirm a comeback, a present intention to return, or her current work.
