Rory Feek has denied his daughters’ claims that their younger sister Indiana is unsafe in his care and rejected allegations linking him to a “cult.” The dispute became public in 2024, with Heidi and Hopie raising concerns about Indiana’s safety and their contact with her, and Feek offering a different account of her care and the family’s boundaries. In a January 15, 2026 blog post, Feek said a trial concerning Indiana’s future had begun in Columbia, Tennessee, then been temporarily suspended after a continuance. The cited accounts do not establish a court finding or a later outcome.
What Heidi and Hopie said about Indiana
In September 2024, Us Weekly reported that Heidi alleged Indiana had wandered into traffic on Highway 431. Heidi also said her contact with Indiana had dwindled and that Rory had limited the older sisters’ visits. Those are Heidi’s allegations as reported by the outlet, not independently established findings. Fox News also reported the sisters’ public statement: “We no longer believe Indiana is safe under our father’s care.”
How Rory Feek responded
In accounts reported by Us Weekly on September 1, 2024, and Fox News on September 2, Feek described the situation as a family dispute and said Indiana was loved and cared for. He said he stopped overnight visits after disagreements about boundaries. He also said Indiana stayed with two families while he was on his honeymoon. These are Feek’s statements; the reporting does not independently establish Indiana’s welfare or resolve the sisters’ concerns.
What is known about the Homestead Heritage and Greycliff claims
Feek denied that Homestead Heritage or Greycliff was a cult. Fox News quoted Homestead Heritage spokesperson Dan Lancaster disputing the way the church was characterized. Lancaster said church pastors had reported four people to local authorities for sexual assault and that those people were convicted and sent to prison. That is the spokesperson’s account, and it does not settle broader claims about the community or Indiana’s care.

What Feek said about the trial
In his January 15, 2026 post “a trying time,” Feek wrote that a trial about Indiana’s future had begun in a Columbia, Tennessee, courtroom. He said proceedings were temporarily suspended after the other side requested a continuance. He also recounted his version of the family conflict, including contact stopping, a call to child protective services, legal accusations, a lawsuit, and efforts at reconciliation.
Feek’s post further described a November meeting with Heidi and her husband and a family Christmas gathering. These details, including his account of the trial and its pause, come from Feek; the post does not provide independent corroboration or the other side’s account. The cited material does not establish a court decision, the proceedings’ later status, or an outcome.
