The father behind the photographs
Steve Irwin, the Australian wildlife conservationist and television personality known to many as the Crocodile Hunter, died in 2006 at age 44. The photographs shared by Robert looked back to a much earlier birthday, offering a family glimpse of Steve at the age his son had just reached.

Robert Irwin’s work with wildlife
Robert is a wildlife photographer, conservationist and zookeeper who works with his family at Australia Zoo, according to ABC News. That public connection to wildlife carries forward a part of his father’s legacy, while the birthday post itself stayed personal: two photographs from the archives and a reflection on a milestone marked in Steve’s absence.
