Cause of death and manner of death are different
“Multiple sharp force injuries” is the recorded cause—the injuries identified as leading to death. “Homicide” is the manner classification, meaning the deaths were attributed to another person’s actions. The classification does not, by itself, establish who caused the injuries or resolve criminal responsibility.
When and where they were found
The reports said the couple were found at their Brentwood home on Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2025. The Guardian reported that December 14 was the date of death listed by the Medical Examiner.

What the reports do—and do not—establish about the case
Contemporary reports said Nick Reiner was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. A charge is an allegation, not a conviction, and the Medical Examiner’s reported findings do not determine the outcome of the criminal case. The cited reports do not provide a detailed autopsy narrative, so they do not support further claims about the injuries or the sequence of events.
