What happened in Rob Kardashian’s return?
The Independent reported that Rob appeared during a family gathering at Kris Jenner’s Hidden Hills home in the season seven premiere. His previous appearances in The Kardashians had been by phone, according to the outlet.

Why “after eight years” is approximate
The Independent dates the end of Rob’s regular appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians to 2016 and his on-screen appearance in The Kardashians to October 2025. Those dates make “after eight years” a loose description, not a verified exact count of the time between appearances.
Does this mean Rob is returning for season eight?
Not by itself. In the season seven finale, Rob told Khloé Kardashian and a producer, “I would hope to be on season eight,” and, “I definitely want to film on season eight,” according to E! News. Those comments show that he was interested in filming; they do not confirm that he filmed or joined the next season.

Us Weekly reported on 2 July 2026 that Rob had appeared in a recent family photo and included comments attributed to an unnamed source. A photo appearance is separate from evidence that he filmed a later season, and the outlet’s source characterization of his health should not be treated as a verified medical fact.
