Two cars linked to Hammond as personal favourites
1960 Jaguar E-type Coupe
A 2026 session summary from the NEC Restoration Show describes Hammond’s own 1960 Jaguar E-type Coupe as “one of his all-time favourite cars” and says his restoration business, The Smallest Cog, is restoring it. This is a separate car from the 1962 E-type roadster named in Top Gear’s 2013 road-trip article. The NEC Restoration Show summary supports the favourite-car description, but not a broader ranking.
Opel Kadett from the Botswana special
MotorEasy reports that Hammond has called the Opel Kadett he drove in the 2007 Botswana Challenge Special his favourite car. This is secondary reporting, and the claim should be read in that specific Botswana-special context rather than as a verified number-one choice across his entire life. MotorEasy’s account is the source for that attribution.
