Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly sneezed during Donald Trump’s remarks at an Oval Office meeting, prompting Trump to joke about COVID and ask Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla about Paxlovid. The account comes from Rae Witte’s October 2, 2025, report for Futurism; the precise exchange has not been independently confirmed against primary footage or an official transcript.
What happened at the Oval Office meeting?
Futurism reported that Kennedy sneezed loudly while Trump was speaking at a gathering in the Oval Office. The meeting was held to announce a Pfizer deal, and the report names Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and health officials among those present.
According to Witte’s account, Trump responded, “God bless you, Bobby,” then joked, “I hope I didn’t catch COVID just there.” He turned to Bourla and asked, “Don’t you have Paxlovid?” The report quotes Trump adding, “He’s got Paxlovid. Give me a Paxlovid immediately!”
What is confirmed about the exchange?
These details and quotations are attributed to Futurism’s report, not an independently verified recording or transcript. A sneeze and Trump’s joke do not establish that anyone at the meeting had COVID-19 or contracted it there; the report does not say that anyone became infected.
