Yes. On August 8, 2024, TheWrap reported that the Re:Zero Season 3 premiere and other titles were circulating on social platforms. That establishes that the episode was reported in circulation; it does not establish who obtained or distributed it, or definitively trace its origin.
Anime Corner reported that the 90-minute premiere had been scheduled for a July 11 screening at Japan Expo in Paris, which was canceled, and described the circulating copy as associated with a screener. Those details are secondary reporting: no public primary incident statement in the cited sources confirms the episode’s chain of custody.
What was the connection to Netflix’s leak reports?
The timing overlapped with reports of leaked Netflix material, but the incidents should not be conflated. Netflix told TheWrap: “One of our post-production partners has been compromised and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online.” The statement concerns Netflix titles. It does not explain the Re:Zero leak or identify a shared cause.
