Reenie Greene does not quit being a lawyer in Tracker Season 2. She leaves her former firm and starts her own practice, giving her more control over her career—and bringing new risks through the clients she takes on.
What does Reenie’s career move mean?
Actor Fiona Rene describes Reenie as having her own law firm and a changing client list. The distinction matters: “quits her job” can sound like she leaves the legal profession, but the available Season 2 material instead shows her moving into independent practice. The CBS episode guide identifies “Out of the Past” as the season premiere, while Rene’s interview discusses the new firm as part of Reenie’s Season 2 life. CBS’s Season 2 episode guide and Rene’s TV Insider interview support that reading.

Why does owning a firm change her role?
Running her own practice gives Reenie a professional world that is not limited to helping Colter Shaw. Rene says Reenie’s client list and the quality of her clients change with the firm. That creates room for cases and consequences that belong to Reenie, rather than making her only a source of information for Colter.
Showrunner Elwood Reid described the broader storytelling aim as developing the other characters’ worlds so they do not exist only to provide Colter with information. Reenie’s independent practice is one way the series can give her more agency while keeping her connected to the cases. Reid’s TV Guide interview, published May 11, 2025, discusses the ensemble and Reenie’s direction after the finale.

How does the new practice put Reenie in danger?
The client relationships that make the practice more independent also expose Reenie to risk. In Season 2, Episode 19, “Rules of the Game,” client Leo Sharf asks Colter to find his missing assistant. CBS’s episode description says the case takes a personal turn for Reenie and draws her into a deadly vendetta. The official Paramount Press Express episode release also describes Reenie being threatened through the case connected to her client.
This is the practical dramatic consequence of her career shift: her own clients bring her opportunities, but their problems can reach her directly. The episode’s synopsis establishes the danger; it does not establish that she leaves law or closes her firm.

What does the Season 2 finale set up?
Reid said Reenie would enter the following season in an uncertain, dark place after the events of Episode 19. That is the showrunner’s description of the character direction planned after Season 2, not confirmation of every later development. It frames the new practice as more than a career milestone: Reenie has built a life with greater independence, but the cases tied to that life can carry a cost.

CBS lists Season 2’s “Out of the Past” as Episode 1, dated October 13, 2024, and “Echo Ridge” as Episode 20, dated May 11, 2025. “Rules of the Game,” the Reenie-focused vendetta episode, is Episode 19. The current CBS series page lists four seasons and Season 4, Episode 1, “Safe Harbor,” dated October 4, 2026. Those later listings establish that the series continued beyond Season 2, but they do not by themselves establish what ultimately happens to Reenie’s firm or career. CBS’s series page carries the current episode listing.
