Record Store Day 2024 took place on April 20, 2024. TechRadar writer Rowan Davies highlighted five albums as “essential” picks; that is an editorial selection, not a ranking or consensus. For the complete US catalogue, use the official nine-page release-list PDF, which covers releases for physical record stores in the United States.
The five albums TechRadar picked
These are the five selections in Rowan Davies’s April 20, 2024 feature. The release formats and quantities below describe the historical 2024 editions, not current stock.
Fleetwood Mac — Rumours (1977)
The feature lists an LP picture disc, with 7,500 copies. Davies’s case for it centers on the album’s enduring appeal and candid emotional writing, read in the context of interpersonal turmoil around the band and the McVies. That is the writer’s rationale for the pick.
The Weeknd — Live at SoFi Stadium (2023)
The feature lists a three-LP set, with 7,500 copies. Davies singles out the setlist and the live arrangement of “Sacrifice,” especially its bass and extended introduction.

Black Sabbath — Paranoid (1970)
The listed edition is an LP, with 4,000 copies. The feature recommends it for the album’s influence on heavy metal and songs including “Paranoid,” “Iron Man,” and “War Pigs.”
Jessie Ware — Tough Love (2014)
Davies describes a 10th-anniversary edition on two LPs of solid-white vinyl, with bonus tracks. The feature presents the album as an early foundation for Ware’s later neo-disco and funk direction.

Gorillaz — Cracker Island (2023)
The feature describes a deluxe two-LP edition with six additional tracks and alternative cover art, and points to its Los Angeles themes and featured artists. The official US list also identifies “Cracker Island (Deluxe Vinyl Edition)” as 2 × LP.
Where to find the full list
The official US release-list PDF is the primary source for the complete US catalogue. It is a nine-page list with artist, title, label, format, and an RSD status marker. The PDF identifies itself as version 2.3.1, updated April 16, 2024, and describes releases distributed through physical record stores in the US. It says the RSD website does not sell the releases.

The PDF defines its markers as E = Exclusive Release, L = Limited Run / Regional Focus Release, and F = RSD First Release. These labels describe the catalogue’s release classifications; they do not, by themselves, establish present-day availability or resale value.
For the five picks and an alphabetically ordered full-list section, see Davies’s TechRadar feature. Regional catalogues are not interchangeable: Official Charts’ list is for the UK and includes formats such as 7-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, CD, cassette, and picture disc. Check that you are using the list for the country relevant to your purchase.

What to check before buying one now
Record Store Day 2024 has passed. The published release lists establish what was planned for the event, not whether a copy is currently available. Official RSD information and Legacy’s announcement direct readers to participating independent retailers and the official store locator, but do not confirm current inventory.
- Ask a local record shop whether it has the specific edition, or verify a later retail listing directly.
- Match the listing to the edition described here: format, track extras, artwork, and vinyl color can distinguish a release from another pressing of the same album.
- Confirm the seller, region, condition, and price before purchasing; the historical release details do not establish those current facts.
The TechRadar feature states runs of 7,500 for Rumours, 7,500 for Live at SoFi Stadium, and 4,000 for Paranoid. Those are reported 2024 product-run quantities, not evidence of scarcity today, sound quality, resale value, or remaining stock.
How to choose among the five
Start with the music you most want to own, then compare the actual edition and its contents. A single LP, a multi-LP live set, picture-disc artwork, solid-white vinyl, and bonus tracks offer different reasons to choose a copy; none is automatically the better edition. If you are buying outside the US, check the applicable regional list rather than assuming the US catalogue’s release details apply everywhere.
