Qué hace la cortosis al tocar un sable láser
StarWars.com describe la cortosis como una mena rara con propiedades de disrupción energética. En la serie, el contacto con una hoja puede interrumpirla y apagarla temporalmente; el recap oficial del episodio aclara que el efecto no daña permanentemente el sable. No se publica una duración exacta del apagón.
La cortosis es un material ficticio de Star Wars, no una sustancia real con propiedades que puedan aplicarse a la tecnología del mundo real.

El guantelete interrumpe una hoja
En el episodio 5, “Night”, durante el enfrentamiento en Khofar, el guantelete del Stranger apaga temporalmente el sable de Jecki Lon. Ella continúa peleando con el sable de Kelnacca hasta que su propia arma vuelve a activarse. El guantelete aporta una ventaja puntual en combate, no una garantía de victoria.

El casco también oculta pensamientos
El casco de cortosis tiene una función distinta: oculta la identidad del Stranger y, según la ficha oficial, impide que las personas sensibles a la Fuerza accedan a sus pensamientos. Esa capacidad de ocultamiento no es el efecto que apaga las hojas.
Por qué la cortosis no es una armadura invulnerable
La propiedad más llamativa de la cortosis es su interacción con la energía, no su resistencia física. StarWars.com señala que la mena en estado puro es débil y se fractura con facilidad. En la pelea con Jecki, el casco del Stranger se rompe, aunque ella no logra vencerlo.

Julian Foddy, supervisor de efectos visuales de la serie, explicó que el contacto debía verse claramente como un corte de la hoja y una pérdida de energía: “It needed to be visually clear so that the metal contacting the lightsaber blade is cutting it off and taking the energy away.” La explicación describe la intención visual de producción, no una propiedad científica de un material real.
