Durante un intercambio con la prensa en la alfombra roja de la serie La Máquina, Méndez comentó: “Si el Canelo hubiera estado cuando yo era joven no se me va vivo”, según informó Telemundo el 9 de octubre de 2024. La frase aludía a una atracción imaginada en otra etapa de su vida, no a un plan actual para conquistarlo.
¿Dijo que saldría con él?
No. Cuando le preguntaron por una posible cita, Méndez rechazó involucrarse con un hombre casado y recordó el consejo de su padre: “Adulterio no, mi papá me dijo un día ‘nunca un casado, hija, porque el día que tú andes con un casado, esas lágrimas de esa mujer las vas a pagar tú’, nunca andaré con un casado”, de acuerdo con la cita publicada por Telemundo.
En la misma conversación, pidió que no se interpretara el comentario como una intención real. Telemundo describió la atracción como algo que existía en su imaginación. UnoTV también recogió su aclaración: “Estoy ubicada, no me gustaría andar con un hombre mucho más joven que yo. Aclaro que si él hubiera estado en mi vida cuando yo era joven. No ahorita”.

Qué significa “no se me va vivo” en este contexto
La expresión es una forma juguetona y enfática de decir que alguien le habría atraído mucho. Aquí estaba condicionada por la frase “si hubiera estado cuando yo era joven”: Méndez hablaba de una posibilidad imaginaria, no de una relación que buscara en el presente.
Por qué lo describieron como un boxeador casado
La cobertura publicada el 9 y 10 de octubre de 2024 identificó a Álvarez como casado con Fernanda Gómez; People en Español informó que se habían casado en 2021. Ese dato explica la respuesta de Méndez sobre no involucrarse con un hombre casado, pero corresponde a los reportes de aquella fecha y no confirma por sí solo el estado civil actual de Álvarez.
