The public record also includes a 2021 statement from the couple that they did not plan to have more children after their second child.
What did Prince Harry say in 2025?
At the seventh Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada, Harry spoke to reporters in an interview with CTV News. The Times of India, in a report updated February 16, 2025, quoted him saying: “I think one or two kids is probably enough… I definitely think that.” The Times of India report attributes the remark to Harry; it does not present it as a joint statement with Meghan.
The wording suggests Harry considers two children enough, but it does not establish a new decision by the couple or guarantee what they will do. The 2025 report does not include a new comment from Meghan.
What have Harry and Meghan said before?
2019: Harry said “Two, maximum!”
In a British Vogue conversation with conservationist Jane Goodall, Goodall joked, “Not too many!” Harry replied, “Two, maximum!” He also said he had always thought “this place is borrowed,” connecting his answer to concern about the planet. CBS News reported the exchange on July 30, 2019. Read the CBS News account.

| Year and context | What was said | Whose view it represents |
|---|---|---|
| 2019, British Vogue conversation with Jane Goodall | “Two, maximum!” | Harry’s personal answer |
| 2021, Oprah Winfrey interview | The couple said they did not plan to have more children after their second child. | A statement from Harry and Meghan |
| 2025, CTV interview at the Invictus Games, as reported by The Times of India | “I think one or two kids is probably enough… I definitely think that.” | Harry’s reported view |
The remarks are broadly consistent about keeping their family small, but the speakers and contexts matter: the 2021 statement was joint, while the 2025 comment was attributed to Harry alone. The 2019 environmental rationale should not be assumed to explain his 2025 answer.
