Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, was inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation on January 19, 2024. John Travolta hosted the 21st annual awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The organization had announced Harry’s selection nine days earlier.
When was Prince Harry inducted?
The awards organization announced Harry’s selection on January 10, 2024, and inducted him at its ceremony on January 19. The event was the 21st annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills and hosted by John Travolta. The organizer’s recap reported more than 700 attendees.
The organization described the awards as recognizing contributions to aviation and aerospace. Its announcement said Harry was selected in light of his decade of military service as an Apache helicopter pilot and his advocacy for veterans and mental health. That is the organization’s stated rationale; the reviewed accounts do not provide a detailed selection rubric or technical criteria for inductees.
What happened at the 2025 ceremony?
Harry’s later appearance at the 22nd annual ceremony was a separate event, not his induction. The 2025 awards were scheduled for April 25, with Travolta again named as host. At the ceremony, Harry honored aerial firefighters after the Southern California wildfires.
