Prince Harry and King Charles reportedly met in the United Kingdom in September 2025. A former royal spokeswoman described the meeting as “a massive step in the right direction,” but that was her assessment—not an official Palace statement or evidence that the family rift had been repaired. The report does not establish whether Queen Camilla attended or why she might have been absent.
What happened between Prince Harry and King Charles?
Parade reported on September 16, 2025, that Harry and Charles met during Harry’s UK visit earlier that month. Parade described it as the first time they had been together in nearly two years. That interval is the publication’s characterization, not a precisely dated chronology established by an official account. Parade’s September 16 report attributes its account of the meeting to People.
The details of the private conversation have not been made public in the cited report. It does not establish what the two discussed, whether they reached an agreement, or what either man intended the meeting to signal.
Who called it a “massive step”?
Ailsa Anderson, identified in Parade’s report as Queen Elizabeth’s former spokeswoman, told People: “It’s a massive step in the right direction.” The phrase is Anderson’s interpretation of the meeting, relayed by Parade; it is not a statement from the Palace or proof of reconciliation.

Parade also relayed a comment from an unnamed source describing the meeting as showing “the way forward” and being “a good starting point.” Because that source is not identified, the comment is less useful for establishing what the meeting meant than Anderson’s named, attributed opinion.
Was Camilla absent, and why?
The available report does not confirm Camilla’s attendance, explain the headline’s “Without Camilla” wording, or give a reason for any absence. It therefore does not support claims that she was excluded, that her absence was deliberate, or that it reflected tension with Harry. The attendee list and motives cannot be inferred from the headline alone.

No such outcome is established by the report. A meeting can indicate contact without proving that a relationship has been repaired, that a dispute is settled, or that the family has agreed on next steps.
In May 2025, Harry publicly said he wanted reconciliation with his family. Parade quoted his BBC interview: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.” The same report quoted him saying: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.” Those earlier remarks provide context for his stated hopes and concerns, but they do not show that the September meeting achieved reconciliation. Parade’s report relays both quotations from the interview.
