It is a Pokémon-themed puzzle and collection game for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android—not a newly released game today.
What Pokémon Friends is
Set in Think Town, Pokémon Friends turns short brainteasers into a collecting and decorating loop: solve puzzles to earn yarn, use it in the Plush-O-Matic to make digital Pokémon plush, complete residents’ friend quests, and arrange plush, furniture, and wallpaper in customizable rooms. The Pokémon Company says Wonderfy Inc., the developer of the educational content behind Think!Think!, originated the puzzle concepts. Examples include tracing Pikachu’s electric current in one line and guiding Spheal through a rolling puzzle. The company’s article does not identify the development-team member quoted about the game’s aims, so the goal is best understood as the team’s stated intention rather than a named expert’s assessment. Where you can play
The official product page lists iOS and Android, plus Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite. The Switch release is a digital download. What is included on mobile and Switch
The official no-cost mobile page lists three puzzles per day, 10 puzzle types with approximately 1,200 variations, 30 plush, five yarn types, and 12 furniture items. Optional packs and additional content
The Basic Pack removes the mobile-style daily puzzle limit, adds 20 puzzles and collectibles, and expands calendar features. Two separate Puzzle On! packs add 15 puzzles apiece, along with further plush and room items; their puzzle, plush, furniture, and wallpaper selections differ. Updates changed the difficulty options
Nintendo Support’s dated Switch update notes record several post-launch changes. Version 1.1.0, dated December 2, 2025, added a choice of preferred difficulty after the tutorial, alongside new puzzles, collectibles, friend quests, and other changes. Version 1.1.4, dated February 3, 2026, added an option to lower a puzzle’s difficulty by one level and replay it. Version 1.1.5, dated February 24, 2026, adjusted plush availability and fixed issues. The main choice is between free-to-start mobile play, with its three-puzzle daily limit, and the paid Switch version, which includes the Basic Pack. The optional Puzzle On! packs are relevant if you want their additional puzzles and room collectibles.
