Pluribus season 1, episode 7, “The Gap,” does include a reveal—but the one clearly identified in the official synopsis is not a confirmed hidden clue about the Others or the Joining. Apple says howls in the night reveal a new source of danger. The episode’s more consequential setup is the contrast between Manousos’s dangerous journey toward Carol and her renewed rebellion after returning from Las Vegas.
What episode 7 actually reveals
Apple’s official synopsis for “The Gap” explicitly says that “howls in the night reveal a new source of danger.” That is the episode’s clearest source-confirmed reveal. The listing does not identify the danger or explain what the howls mean, so naming a specific threat would go beyond what the available evidence establishes.
The episode’s other confirmed story setup is that Manousos begins a dangerous trek to meet Carol, while Carol returns from Las Vegas and gets creative with her rebellion. Those parallel developments make the hour significant even without a newly explained answer to the show’s larger mysteries. Apple TV Press’s episode listing gives the title, release date, and synopsis.
Is there a hidden clue about the Others or the Joining?
Nothing in the sources reviewed confirms a particular background detail as a hidden reveal about the Others or the Joining. TechRadar’s recap characterizes the episode as not revealing new information about either subject, instead focusing on the parallel Carol and Manousos storylines. That is a recap’s interpretation, not confirmation of creator intent; it also does not rule out viewers noticing details that support their own theories.

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
The distinction matters: the nighttime howls are identified in Apple’s synopsis as signaling danger, but a further explanation of that danger—or a separate subtle clue—cannot be presented as established fact on this evidence. Treat any proposed connection to the show’s larger mystery as a theory unless the episode makes it unmistakable on screen. TechRadar’s episode recap offers commentary on the ending and character threads.
Why the two storylines matter
Carol’s return and rebellion
Apple’s synopsis says Carol comes back from Las Vegas and “gets creative with her rebellion.” That establishes a shift toward action, but the short official description does not spell out the details or settle what her choices mean for the larger conflict.

Manousos’s dangerous trek
Manousos is headed toward a meeting with Carol, and Apple describes the journey as dangerous. His willingness to make that trip provides a counterpoint to Carol’s actions: the episode puts their separate choices on a path toward contact without confirming what that meeting will resolve.
The howls in the night
The howls supply the episode’s explicit signal of a new danger. Because the synopsis leaves the source unnamed, they work as a warning rather than a fully disclosed answer. Reading them as proof of a specific threat would be speculation.
