Justin Bieber’s public image spans his preteen YouTube discovery in 2008 to music releases listed through 2026. This timeline uses dated photo-gallery waypoints alongside career milestones, so each period has context without treating an album date as the exact moment his appearance changed.
Justin Bieber through the years: the visual timeline
The images in the Us Weekly photo gallery provide dated examples rather than an exhaustive record. Check each image and its caption together: the chronology below explains the period, while the caption and credit identify the specific photograph.

Early 2008: YouTube discovery
Us Weekly’s timeline begins with Bieber as a preteen in videos his mother posted online. The gallery dates the next turning point to October 2008, when Scooter Braun found the videos and arranged an introduction to Usher; Bieber then signed with Island Records. This is the starting point for the public image later associated with his teen-pop breakthrough.

November 2009: My World
Bieber’s debut EP, My World, brought his music to a wider audience. Us Weekly reports that it debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. Biography.com says it sold more than 137,000 copies within a week, though that page does not identify the original statistical source for the figure.

March 2010: My World 2.0

2011–2013: touring, films and Believe
The 2011 concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never documented the road to his August 2010 Madison Square Garden concert. Us Weekly reported that the film took nearly $30 million at its opening weekend; that figure describes its opening weekend, not its total box-office earnings. Justin Bieber’s Believe followed in 2013 with backstage footage. In between, the 2012 Believe album marked a move toward dance and R&B sounds in Us Weekly’s account.

2015: Purpose
Biography.com dates Purpose to November 2015 and describes it as a break from Bieber’s child-star status. The album included “Sorry” and “Love Yourself,” making it a clear later-career waypoint after the teen-pop years.

2018–2019: marriage
Us Weekly dates Bieber’s courthouse marriage to Hailey Baldwin (now Hailey Bieber) to 2018 and their family ceremony in South Carolina to the following year. A relationship photograph belongs in the timeline when its date and caption connect clearly to this milestone.

2020–2021: Changes and Justice
Changes (2020) and Justice (2021) are the next album landmarks in Biography.com’s chronology. Use them to orient dated images to the music of the period, not to claim that an album release marks a precise change in hairstyle, clothing or personal style.

2024–2026: family milestone and recent releases
The Associated Press reported that Justin and Hailey Bieber announced the birth of their first child in August 2024. AP dates the album Swag to July 2025; Apple Music’s catalog lists SWAG II as a 2025 album and SWAG LIVE FROM COACHELLA (Weekend II) on July 3, 2026. These dates extend the timeline beyond Justice; they do not, by themselves, establish what a particular photograph shows.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read the timeline
- Use the photo date for the image. An album’s release year can provide context, but it does not prove when a visible styling change occurred.
- Keep captions specific to the photograph. Do not infer a hairstyle, outfit, venue or event that the image and its caption do not establish.
- Treat the gallery as a selection. The Us Weekly timeline offers examples across Bieber’s public life, not every significant image or period.
Us Weekly’s gallery credits images to Getty Images, WireImage and INSTARimages; some entries also name a photographer or agency. Preserve the credit associated with every image you display. A visible credit is attribution, not permission to republish: the gallery information does not establish a blanket reuse license. For publication or other reuse, consult the publisher or the relevant rights holder.
