Photos and same-day reports documented celebrities and other public figures in several different settings: the Capitol Rotunda, an overflow viewing area, the ceremony itself, and inaugural balls. This is a selective guide to those documented appearances—not a complete guest list or a claim that everyone pictured attended the Rotunda ceremony.
Who was seen at the Capitol ceremony?
Reports and captions place different guests in different parts of the Capitol. The distinctions matter: appearing in the Rotunda, watching from an overflow area, and performing at the ceremony are not interchangeable.
| Person or group | Documented setting or role | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Joe Rogan | Reported in the Capitol Rotunda | The Washington Post’s January 20, 2025 report |
| Mark Zuckerberg, Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai, and Elon Musk | Named in a caption for a Rotunda photograph | Getty Images’ January 20, 2025 caption |
| Jake Paul, Logan Paul, Conor McGregor, and Theo Von | Reported in the Emancipation Hall overflow area | ABC News’ January 20, 2025 report |
| Danica Patrick | Reported in the overflow room | Forbes’ January 20, 2025 report |
The Washington Post also reported Dana White at the event, while Forbes covered Jake and Logan Paul’s arrival with Sam Altman and other technology executives. Those reports offer examples, not a verified census of attendees. (The Washington Post; Forbes; Forbes on the Paul brothers and tech executives.)
Who performed at the inauguration?
Carrie Underwood
Underwood sang “America the Beautiful” after Trump was sworn in. The performance is covered in ABC News’ event report and Forbes’ report.

Christopher Macchio and Lee Greenwood
The Washington Post also names tenor Christopher Macchio and singer Lee Greenwood among the ceremony performers. Their role was performing, rather than simply being guests in a celebrity roundup. (The Washington Post.)
Which celebrities appeared at inaugural balls?
Some event-day celebrity photos were taken at evening balls, not at the Capitol swearing-in. Fox News captions place Jon Voight and Kid Rock at the Commander in Chief Ball, and Jason Aldean and Billy Ray Cyrus at the Liberty Ball. The Village People and Nelly also appear among entertainers identified in inauguration-related reporting and photo coverage. Read each caption for its particular location rather than treating every event appearance as Rotunda attendance. (Fox News’ captioned photo gallery; The Washington Post.)

What about Snoop Dogg?
The Associated Press reported that Snoop Dogg performed at the pre-inaugural Crypto Ball. That was a related event before inauguration day, not evidence that he attended the January 20 swearing-in ceremony. (Associated Press, January 20, 2025.)
How to read inauguration celebrity photos accurately
- Check the venue in the caption. “Rotunda,” “Emancipation Hall,” and the names of inaugural balls identify different settings.
- Distinguish guests from performers. A singer’s role in the ceremony does not establish where that person sat or whether they were there as a guest.
- Treat roundups as selective. Contemporaneous reports provide named examples, not a defined or authoritative count of celebrity attendees. The Associated Press quoted Syracuse University pop-culture professor Robert Thompson saying, “The people who are coming out and participating directly are still a small subset of the entire universe of what we call celebrity,” and, “But we’re seeing a lot more celebrities who are coming out and supporting Trump. There may not be that distinct division that we saw before.” Those are Thompson’s observations, quoted by the AP, not an attendance statistic. (Associated Press, January 20, 2025.)
Can you reuse the photos?
A photograph appearing in a news gallery does not make it free to republish. Getty’s caption identifies a Julia Demaree Nikhinson pool photo from the Rotunda and offers that asset for licensing. For publication, check the rights and terms for the specific image, including territory and intended use; permission for one photograph does not automatically cover another.
