Why reports disagree about the final date
The 2016 date reflects what Parks said at the time, not an uncontested final outcome. Nida disputed that account, and the judgment was overturned after his appeal in 2017. Later coverage places the finalization in 2017. The AJC reported that Nida’s attorneys alleged Parks’s filing used misspelled names; her spokesman said altered names were intended to protect her privacy. Those are attributed claims, not independently established explanations.
What Parks said about the split
In a November 2016 ABC News interview, Parks described the divorce as the start of a new chapter, while reflecting on the personal disappointment she felt: “I’m glad that I’m able to enter a new chapter in my life,” she said, adding that she did not want to be “the most successful business person and be a failure at personal relationships.”

She also distinguished her feelings as a co-parent from her feelings as a former romantic partner: “I’ll always love him because he’s the father of my children so I can never be regretful of that because out of our union came these beautiful awesome kids,” Parks said. “But as far as being in love with him romantically, I’m definitely not at that place in my life anymore.”

Parks said in 2016 that she and Nida would always have a relationship because they shared children. In a 2017 interview quoted by Bravo from PEOPLE, she said she did not want to speak negatively about him: “At the end of the day, Apollo is the children’s father. And so I want them to be able to make their own opinions about who he is as a father.” Bravo’s later updates describe them as continuing to co-parent.
