What Anthony said about the experience
Speaking to Mix94.5’s Pete and Kymba, as quoted by PerthNow, Anthony called the experience “such a whirlwind” and “genuinely such an emotional roller coaster.” He said, “I just feel like the underdog in this situation, and I just keep surprising myself,” and described the experience as “absolutely amazing.”

A competition path that began in Australia
American Idol was not Anthony’s first televised singing competition. He reached the Top 4 on The Voice Australia in 2019, when he was 14, and later represented Australia at Junior Eurovision, placing eighth. Those are results from different programs and formats rather than directly comparable rankings. PerthNow reported the results, which are also recounted in Anthony’s official EPK.
Anthony’s official biography says he began writing songs as a child, busked at age 11 to raise money to record them, and released an album on Spotify at 13. It also links to his 2024 American Idol performances and earlier projects.
