Perth’s confirmed public celebration for New Year’s Eve 2026 is at Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and Supreme Court Gardens, with fireworks planned for 8:30pm and midnight on 31 December. Beyond the city event, listings point to parties, dinners, family events and a Swan River cruise around Perth and its suburbs—but those individual events need confirmation from their organisers before you book.
What’s confirmed for Perth New Year’s Eve 2026?
The City of Perth has scheduled its public New Year’s Eve event for 31 December 2026 across Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and Supreme Court Gardens. The City’s plan includes festivities, roving performers and live entertainment, followed by a family-friendly fireworks display at 8:30pm and a traditional midnight display. A shorter midnight display is also planned to launch from CBD rooftops for the Northbridge restaurant and bar area. See the City of Perth event page and check it again closer to the date, as event details can change.
The City’s two 2025 attendance figures come from different documents: its 2026–27 Events Plan reports 58,700, while its 2026–27 partnership prospectus reports 58,000. Both documents list $10.7 million in direct economic impact. These are snapshots of the 2025 event, not a forecast or attendance promise for 2026.
What kinds of parties and events are listed around Perth?
A broad event guide lists options in the CBD and suburbs, including a ticketed festival at Claremont Showgrounds, hotel, pub and rooftop parties, dinners, family-friendly events, a Scarborough beachside party and a Swan River cruise. Its venue listings include Claremont, East Fremantle, Guildford, Bassendean, Applecross, Scarborough and South Perth. Treat these as leads for planning, not as a confirmed 2026 programme: some details are marked TBA, while other descriptions refer to what a venue normally or may offer. Use the Perth NYE event guide to identify possibilities, then check each organiser’s current page.

How to choose the right event
Before paying or making a dinner reservation, confirm the details that determine whether an event suits your group. A rooftop label or a venue’s suburb does not establish that fireworks will be visible.
- Price and inclusions: Check the current ticket or booking price and what it covers, such as food, drinks, entertainment or a reserved viewing area.
- Format and location: Decide whether you want a public celebration, ticketed party, dinner, family event or cruise, then check the venue’s exact address and travel time.
- Age suitability: Confirm age restrictions and whether children are welcome; “family-friendly” should be verified with the organiser.
- Timing: Check entry, event start and finish times, and whether the programme runs through the midnight countdown.
- Fireworks: Ask whether fireworks are included or clearly visible from the venue, and whether the view depends on weather, access or a particular booking area.
- Booking conditions: Review availability, cancellation terms and any requirements for arrival or seating before committing.
- Transport home: Check the latest Transperth journey planner and event notices for services on the night.
What transport is confirmed?
The transport announcement available for the previous New Year period covered 31 December 2025 into 1 January 2026. The Public Transport Authority said Transperth travel would be free from midnight to 6am on 1 January 2026, with extra train services through the night and extra buses on selected routes. Those arrangements served destinations including the Perth CBD, Northbridge, Fremantle, Scarborough Beach and Rockingham Beach. They are not confirmation of free travel or overnight services for the end of 2026. Check the Transperth website for the upcoming holiday transport arrangements.
