For Election Night 2024, Peacock planned a three-panel Multiview experience combining NBC News reporting, Steve Kornacki’s analysis and election-result graphics. The feature was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, giving viewers a way to follow several parts of NBC’s coverage without switching between streams.
What Peacock added for Election Night
This was more than a plan to stream NBC News. Peacock adapted its Multiview interface for election coverage, placing three different kinds of information on screen at once: live reporting, specialist analysis and a results map. The feeds had distinct roles:
- NBC News NOW: Live election-night reporting, with Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie and reporters in battleground states.
- Kornacki Cam: A dedicated view of NBC News national political correspondent Steve Kornacki at the big board, analyzing incoming results, polling numbers and exit polls. It was an analysis feed within Multiview, not a separate news network.
- Election Results and Balance of Power Map: A results-focused view with projected Electoral College outcomes, other key race results and balance-of-power information supplied through the NBC News Decision Desk. These were projections and live graphics, not certified results or independent projections made by Peacock.
Peacock’s announcement described the three views and the planned schedule.
How the Multiview interface worked
Viewers could move among the panes, choose which feed’s audio to hear, or select a stream to expand it to full screen. That let someone keep the results map visible while listening to NBC News NOW, for example, then make Kornacki’s analysis the focus when a race or data point warranted closer attention.

Why this was a notable expansion
Peacock had used Multiview prominently during its 2024 Paris Olympics coverage. The election plan carried that simultaneous-streaming interface into a different kind of live event: a developing news story where viewers may want a reporter’s account, an analyst’s interpretation and a changing results display at the same time. Peacock and NBCUniversal described the election deployment as Multiview’s first announced use outside sports programming.
NBCUniversal also said more than a quarter of Peacock’s Olympics viewers watched through Multiview. That is the company’s reported figure, not an independently audited measurement. The election announcement was an adaptation of an existing feature, rather than the launch of a new viewing technology.

What it offered cord-cutters—and what it did not
For viewers without traditional pay-TV service, Peacock’s plan offered a streaming route to NBC’s election coverage and a more information-dense alternative to watching a single linear feed. Its distinctive value was the combination of NBC News NOW, Kornacki’s big-board analysis and Decision Desk results graphics in one interface.
- It was NBC-centered: Multiview combined NBC’s reporting and analysis; it was not a multi-network dashboard or a substitute for every cable-news channel.
- It could be a lot to follow: Three simultaneous views suit viewers who want to monitor multiple information streams, but may distract someone who prefers a conventional anchor-led broadcast.
- Access depended on the service and device: The announcement did not establish that every Peacock subscription tier or every compatible device had identical access. Viewers would have needed to check the applicable subscription terms, local availability and device support at the time.
- Three live feeds need a reliable connection: Peacock did not publish a bandwidth requirement in the cited announcements. A weak connection could affect playback quality, and multiple streams may be more demanding than watching one.
Election graphics and commentary also need not change at precisely the same moment: a map can lag a spoken update, and a race without a projection is not necessarily a race without meaningful results. Decision Desk projections should be distinguished from official results certified by election authorities.

How it fit among 2024 streaming coverage
Peacock was not the only streaming service preparing Election Night programming. Contemporary coverage reported that Prime Video had announced Election Night Live With Brian Williams. That is historical context, not a current availability comparison; the cited coverage does not establish the competing program’s final presentation, geographic availability or subscription requirements. BGR’s October 29, 2024 coverage discusses the announcement.
The advertised Election Hub and election Multiview were tied to the 2024 event window, not presented as a permanent feature or a recurring service. The announcement concerned coverage scheduled for November 5–6, 2024, rather than an offering available for a future election.
