The performance then ranged across Beatles, Wings and solo material, building toward the communal singalong of “Hey Jude” and an encore that paired a virtual John Lennon duet with the Abbey Road finale.
What happened at Acrisure Arena
McCartney played Acrisure Arena on September 29, 2025, in the Thousand Palms community near Palm Desert. The date opened the 2025 leg of the Got Back Tour. The artist’s official tour diary recounts the show from McCartney’s channel; it is a detailed retrospective, not an independent review or eyewitness account from this publication.
The opening choice set the tone. “Help!”—a Beatles song not usually associated with a McCartney concert opener—started the night, and setlist.fm marks it as a tour debut. From there, the set moved between eras rather than staying within a single band or period.
How the set moved from surprise to singalong
The community-maintained setlist.fm listing records 36 songs, including Beatles, Wings, solo and Quarrymen material. Its early sequence ran from “Help!” into “Coming Up,” “Got to Get You Into My Life,” “Letting Go” and “Drive My Car.” Later selections included “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “In Spite of All the Danger,” “Blackbird,” “Now and Then,” “Jet,” “Something” and “Band on the Run.”

McCartney’s official diary describes an energetic start, highlighting “Got to Get You Into My Life,” “Drive My Car,” “Letting Go,” “Come On to Me,” “Let Me Roll It” and “Getting Better.” It also calls “Maybe I’m Amazed” the first performance of that song on the 2025 Got Back Tour.
Tributes within the show
The quieter and more reflective moments gave the career-spanning set a personal thread. The diary describes “Something” as a tribute to George Harrison, with McCartney playing part of it on a ukulele Harrison had given him. It also identifies “Here Today” and “Now and Then” as tributes to John Lennon.

The closing stretch
The listed sequence moved through “Get Back,” “Let It Be,” “Live and Let Die” and “Hey Jude” before the encore. McCartney’s diary reports pyrotechnics during “Live and Let Die” and an arena singalong to “Hey Jude”—a shift from spectacle to a song whose communal chorus became the night’s shared payoff.
The encore began with “I’ve Got a Feeling,” presented as a virtual duet with Lennon. It continued with “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter,” then closed with the Abbey Road medley: “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End.” Both the official diary and the setlist.fm record the broad closing sequence.

How long was the concert?
The two sources describe the duration differently. The official diary rounds the show to “nearly three hours,” while setlist.fm lists an 8:15 p.m. start and a 10:55 p.m. finish, or 2 hours and 40 minutes. Those clock times come from a community-maintained listing and may be revised; the diary’s phrasing is a rounded description rather than a precise runtime.

Rolling Stone Australia’s March 30, 2026 retrospective on McCartney’s Fonda Theatre performance refers to the Palm Springs-area Got Back opener and its “Help!” performance. That later reference reinforces the opener’s distinctiveness, though the event-level details and sequence here come from the official diary and setlist.fm.

The strongest documented shape of the Acrisure Arena show is its contrast: an unexpected Beatles opener, movement among several phases of McCartney’s catalog, tributes to Harrison and Lennon, and a finale built for a large crowd. The setlist supports that arc; the diary supplies the artist’s account of the atmosphere and staging.
