Patrick Schwarzenegger and model Abby Champion married on September 6, 2025, beside Lake Coeur d’Alene in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Their ceremony capped a three-day celebration that included a family rehearsal dinner, a Western-themed barbecue, and a reception reached by boat.
When and where did they get married?
Vogue reports that the couple’s ceremony took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene. The lake and Rocky Mountains formed the backdrop, and Champion’s father, Greg Champion, officiated. After the ceremony, guests travelled by boat to the nearby Hagadone Event Center for cocktails and the reception.
How the three-day celebration unfolded
Thursday, September 4: Rehearsal dinner
The celebration began with an intimate farm-to-table dinner for family and the wedding party. Champion wore Zimmermann, while Schwarzenegger wore a powder-blue Tom Ford suit.
Friday, September 5: Western-themed barbecue
The couple welcomed guests with a barbecue at nearby Gozzer Ranch. Champion wore a long-sleeved lace Bec + Bridge dress with black cowboy boots and a black hat.

Saturday, September 6: Lakeside ceremony and reception
The wedding ceremony was followed by the boat trip to the Hagadone Event Center, where guests gathered for cocktails and the reception. Vogue describes the ceremony decor as deliberately simple: white chairs, white roses, and hydrangeas. Champion said she wanted to avoid elaborate flowers partly because she was a little afraid of bees.

Champion wore a custom silk-wool column gown by Danielle Frankel, with a high neckline and deep V-shaped back. A silk overskirt with a hand-painted lining, soft tulle opera-length gloves, and a fingertip-length veil completed the look; her accessories included diamond studs and a pearl ring. Frankel described the gown as evolving through fittings: “The gown evolved as the fittings progressed—a true design process, as if we were in development rather than going from sketch to finish, which is the proper way to design a bespoke gown,” she told Vogue.

How the couple met and got engaged
Champion told Vogue that they met in Los Angeles in 2015 through a mutual friend. Eight years later, Schwarzenegger proposed during an early-morning walk on a Santa Monica beach. Champion described the proposal—not the wedding ceremony—as “intimate, relaxed, and everything I had ever imagined.”
