It became the franchise’s principal Canadian streaming home on August 1, 2023, taking over much of the catalogue previously associated with Crave. The change did not mean every Star Trek title would always be on Paramount+, or that Bell’s CTV Sci-Fi broadcast role disappeared. Check the Canadian catalogue and your plan before subscribing for a particular series, film or season.
Where to watch Star Trek in Canada
| What you want to watch | Where to start |
|---|---|
| The main Star Trek on-demand catalogue | Paramount+ Canada |
| Canadian linear television broadcasts | Check CTV Sci-Fi and current Bell listings |
| HBO programming, Crave Originals and Crave’s broader catalogue | Crave |
| A specific film, special or episode | Search the Canadian Paramount+ app or title page; availability can vary |
Paramount+’s Canadian Star Trek pages currently list a range of classic and newer programmes, including Star Trek, Voyager, Discovery and Starfleet Academy. Treat the catalogue as title-specific rather than assuming that every series, season, film or special is included at all times. A listing is not a guarantee that every episode is available on every plan.
What changed—and when
Crave had been a significant Canadian streaming home for Star Trek. Bell Media had also announced Canadian broadcast arrangements for titles including Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks and Prodigy on CTV Sci-Fi, alongside streaming availability on Crave. Those separate roles help explain why the 2023 shift is best described as a change in the principal streaming destination—not the end of Bell’s involvement in Star Trek.
On August 1, 2023, Paramount announced that Paramount+ had become Canada’s streaming home for the franchise. The announced catalogue contained more than 800 episodes and 12 feature films. The transfer was phased rather than arriving all at once:

- August 1, 2023: Strange New Worlds seasons 1 and 2, along with episodes available at that point.
- August 8, 2023: Star Trek: The Next Generation, seasons 1–7.
- August 15, 2023: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, seasons 1–7.
Discovery and Picard were already available on Paramount+ as the rollout began. The announcement is dated 2023, so this is a rights-history update, not a new 2026 transfer. Paramount’s current Canadian Star Trek pages are the better place to check what is available now.

Does Paramount+ have every Star Trek title?
Not necessarily. The 2023 announcement described a large catalogue, and the Canadian service continues to present a substantial Star Trek collection. But “Paramount+ has all of Star Trek” is too absolute: licensing windows and regional rights can affect individual films, seasons and specials. Paramount’s Canadian plan information also warns that Essential-series access may not include all episodes. Verify the exact title and episode availability in Canada before choosing a plan.
Do not assume the U.S. and Canadian catalogues are identical. Use the Canadian service rather than a U.S. search result, and check the title’s Canadian page. Audio and subtitle options can also differ by programme, so French-language viewers should confirm language availability on the specific title page rather than infer it from another series.
New series and Bell’s continuing role
Paramount+ is the straightforward starting point for newer Paramount+ Star Trek productions. For example, the Canadian Starfleet Academy page lists season-one episodes dated January 15, 2026. That does not establish a universal release rule for every future show or season: broadcast windows and licensing can differ by title.
CTV Sci-Fi is a Canadian broadcaster, while Paramount+ is the principal direct-to-consumer streaming destination for the main catalogue. A broadcast listing, an old Bell press release and a playable Crave listing are not the same thing. If you find an older Star Trek page on Crave or Bell, open the programme in the Canadian app and confirm that it is currently playable under your subscription.

Paramount+ Canada plans and the cost question
Paramount+’s Canadian signup information displayed Essential at $8.99 per month and Premium at $13.99 per month in the source information for this article. Prices, promotions and plan terms can change, so confirm the checkout page before paying. Essential is ad-supported and may not include every episode of some series. Premium is positioned as ad-free, subject to stated exceptions; check the plan page for current details rather than assuming every programme is free of promotional or live-TV advertising.
For comparison, Bell’s streaming page displayed Crave Standard With Ads at $11.99 per month and Crave Premium at $22 per month. Those are Bell-displayed offer prices, not a promise that every customer, bundle or billing route will see the same price. Crave is not the default choice if your only reason to subscribe is the main Star Trek catalogue, but it may still make sense for a household that watches its HBO programming, films, originals or other Bell content.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Should you cancel Crave?
- Consider cancelling or pausing if you kept Crave mainly for Star Trek and do not use its other programming or a Bell bundle.
- Keep Crave if the household regularly watches its broader catalogue, or if its place in a bundle makes it worthwhile.
- Consider both if you want Paramount+’s Star Trek catalogue as well as Crave’s other programming, or if a particular title or viewing route makes both useful.
Before signing up for Paramount+, find out who bills your current services. A direct subscription, a Bell-billed subscription and a subscription through another platform can have different cancellation and account-management steps. Bell advises customers with subscriptions billed directly by a provider to manage them with that provider and to avoid duplicate subscriptions. If you subscribe through a third party, check which app and account provide access, how cancellation works and whether a promotion is tied to that billing route. Do not assume a new subscription will replace or transfer an existing one.
If a Star Trek title is missing
A search result or programme page may be old, regional, temporary or linked to a broadcast or bundle rather than a playable entitlement. If Paramount+ does not show the title you expect:
- Confirm that you are using the Canadian account and catalogue.
- Search the Canadian Paramount+ site or app for the exact series, film or season.
- Check whether your plan includes the episode; Essential may not include all episodes of some series.
- Update the app, or sign out and back in if a page looks stale.
- Open the individual title page to check current availability and language options.
- If the Canadian page says you should have access but playback fails, contact Paramount+ support.
A missing title does not mean the whole franchise has left Paramount+. It may reflect a title-level rights window, plan restriction or a stale listing.
