What the perfect score means
The 100% figure is the season’s Tomatometer score, Rotten Tomatoes’ critics’ measure. It means all five reviews currently counted on the Season 4 page are positive; the small sample is essential context, and it does not show that every critic—or every viewer—liked the season.
The audience score is separate: Rotten Tomatoes lists a 48% Popcornmeter from 250+ ratings. That difference makes the headline’s wording easy to misread: “perfect” describes the displayed critics’ score, not audience opinion.
Among the reviews shown on the page, Liz Kocan of Decider wrote, “It’s got humor, it’s got tragedy, and it’s a tense, wild ride that doesn’t disappoint.” Rotten Tomatoes attributes the quote to Kocan’s review.

Why the headline appeared in October 2024
The original report, published by CBR on October 13, 2024, followed the release of the first five episodes. At that point, the perfect score reflected a five-review critic sample during the season’s first-part launch—not a large body of reviews. The October 13 report is the launch-week context behind the headline.
Season 4 ultimately comprised ten episodes, released in two groups of five. Rotten Tomatoes lists episodes 1–5 as released October 10, 2024, and episodes 6–10 as released November 7, 2024; Netflix confirms the two-part release and says both parts are streaming.

Where the series stands now
Netflix’s current guide identifies Season 5 as the fifth and final season and says all ten episodes are available. Netflix Tudum’s Season 5 guide provides that update. Rotten Tomatoes lists Netflix as the streaming service for Outer Banks, though availability can vary by region.
