Our Little Secret is a 2024 Netflix holiday romantic comedy starring Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding as Avery and Logan, former partners who are forced to spend Christmas together after discovering that their current partners are siblings. The film premiered exclusively on Netflix on November 27, 2024.
What is Our Little Secret about?
Avery and Logan were once deeply in love, but their relationship ended badly a decade earlier. In the present day, Avery is dating Cameron, while Logan is dating Cassie. The awkward twist is that Cameron and Cassie are brother and sister, meaning Avery and Logan are unexpectedly brought together at the same Morgan family Christmas gathering.
Neither former partner wants the family to know about their history. Avery is especially anxious to impress Erica Morgan, the family matriarch, and fears that her past with Logan could affect how Cameron’s family sees her. Their attempt to behave like strangers quickly turns into an increasingly complicated series of lies, cover stories, and holiday mishaps.

The film begins with a flashback to 2014, when Avery is preparing to leave for an important career opportunity. Logan reacts badly to the prospect of her departure, proposes impulsively, and becomes hurtful when Avery turns him down. That painful breakup explains why Avery is so determined to pretend that she barely knows him when they meet again years later.
During the holiday visit, Avery tries to win Erica’s approval and even helps create a fake medical emergency involving the family dog, Veronica. Logan becomes an unwilling accomplice to the deception. Their old dynamic gradually returns: despite the resentment between them, Logan still understands Avery’s behavior and emotional reactions better than the people in her current life do.
The Christmas Eve gathering brings several other secrets to the surface. Cameron has an unresolved attraction to Sophie, Leonard and Margaret’s affair is revealed, and the household’s escalating incidents include the fake dog emergency, a cookie-related mishap, and marijuana circulating through the house. The hidden history between Avery and Logan eventually becomes impossible to maintain.

Is Our Little Secret a Christmas movie?
Yes. The story is built around a Christmas family gathering, holiday travel and hosting pressures, Christmas Eve revelations, and the familiar romantic-comedy idea of former partners being forced into close quarters. It is best described as a light holiday romance with an exes-under-one-roof setup, family secrets, and a second-chance love story.
Its main appeal is the combination of Lindsay Lohan’s return to a Netflix holiday-romance lead role, a concealed-exes premise, and an ensemble family gathering where nearly everyone seems to be hiding something. The film is designed as a feel-good seasonal watch rather than a serious examination of relationship breakdown or family dysfunction.
