In the mobile app, tap More → Social Platforms → YouTube, then tap Reconnect in the pop-up. If the account reconnects but the broadcast still does not appear on YouTube, check the destination and encoder signal separately.
Reconnect the YouTube platform in OneStream Live
On the web app
- Open Social Platforms.
- Find the disconnected YouTube platform and click its three-dot menu.
- Select Reconnect and complete any authorization prompts.
In the mobile app
- Tap More at the bottom right.
- Choose Social Platforms, then select YouTube.
- Tap Reconnect in the pop-up and complete any authorization prompts.
OneStream Live says the platform is ready to use after it has been reconnected. The interface labels are drawn from its support instructions, last updated August 7, 2026; menu locations may change. OneStream Live’s reconnection steps.
If the platform reconnects but the stream still will not reach YouTube
A connected YouTube account and a broadcast configured to send to YouTube are separate things. Check the likely failure layer rather than assuming every disconnection is caused by a stream key.
1. Confirm YouTube is selected as a destination
- Open Encoder Streaming in OneStream Live.
- Choose the relevant stream key or event.
- Open Set Destinations, select the YouTube destination, and save.
A restored social-platform connection does not by itself confirm that the particular encoder event is targeting YouTube.

2. Check whether OneStream is receiving the encoder signal
Make sure the encoder is sending to OneStream, then open Signal in the right sidebar of Encoder Streaming. OneStream describes Encoder Status as an indication of whether its stream is active. If it reads offline, check the stream key and the encoder connection before troubleshooting YouTube authorization again. See OneStream Live’s third-party encoder help.
3. Follow the YouTube encoder workflow for the event
Confirm that the encoder is configured with YouTube’s stream URL and key. Start the encoder; for a scheduled-stream workflow, wait for the preview to appear in YouTube Live Control Room before selecting Go live. YouTube’s steps vary by workflow, so follow the controls shown for the specific event. See YouTube’s encoder live-streaming instructions.

4. Check authentication, platform availability, and network stability
- Authentication or permissions: check the destination’s authorization and permissions; reconnect if the YouTube platform link is disconnected.
- Stream key or destination settings: verify the current key and that the event is set to send to the intended YouTube destination.
- Platform availability: check whether the destination service is available.
- Network or encoder trouble: OneStream lists network interruptions as a possible cause. If the local connection is unstable, try Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, check encoder dropped frames, and restart the encoder software or computer. If CPU use is high, reduce resolution, frame rate, or bitrate and see whether the signal stabilizes.
These are diagnostic checks, not proof of the cause of a particular disconnection. OneStream’s troubleshooting guidance is at its third-party encoder help collection.
Use a backup stream key for encoder interruptions
OneStream documents a Backup Stream Key that can automatically take over if the primary encoder stream disconnects. Configure the backup key and URL in the encoder. For a smoother transition, keep the two streams synchronized or closely aligned. OneStream also warns that if the backup fails, the system will not automatically switch back to the primary stream. This is a resilience option for encoder-originated interruptions, not a way to reauthorize a disconnected YouTube account. Details are in OneStream Live’s encoder help.
