In her interview with host Alex Cooper, Lenz said she felt disconnected from her husband and was asked to follow a schedule for sex because she was disinterested. She recalled being told, “You just have to do it. Just do it, this is your duty, this is your job as a wife. Your emotions will fall in line.”

Lenz said she hated the arrangement but went along with it because she took the marriage seriously and wanted to keep peace. She described the schedule in connection with her husband traveling between the Pacific Northwest and Wilmington, where he would be in town for stretches of time. These are Lenz’s recollections of the relationship, not independently established findings about her former husband’s intentions.
Why she connected airport pickups to PTSD
Lenz said her stomach dropped when her former husband returned. She also described how later airport pickups for boyfriends brought back the expectation that the schedule would resume when her ex arrived. In the interview, she said: “I had so much PTSD from showing up at the airport to see him knowing that I was gonna have to start this sex schedule for the next like two weeks or three weeks or whatever.”
