When did One Piece return after the break?
The Japanese return programming took place on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, 2025. Fuji TV described the interval as about six months. The station’s announcement identifies episode 1123 in the April 5 programming and episode 1124 on April 6. Fuji TV’s announcement
April 5: recap special and episode 1123
Toei described the April 5 broadcast as an 83-minute Egghead Arc Part-1 Special Episode that recapped key events before episode 1123. Fuji TV’s schedule described that day’s program as an Egghead special edit followed by episode 1123. These descriptions refer to the same return-day programming, but the sources characterize the special differently. Toei Animation Fuji TV

- The world's greatest exposition of the pirates, by the pirates, for the pirates - the Pirates Festival. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Crew receive an invitation from its host Buena Festa who is known as the Master of Festivities. They arrive to find a venue packed with glamorous pavilions and many pirates including the ones from the Worst Generation. The place is electric.
April 6: episode 1124 and a new time slot
Toei said episode 1124 premiered on April 6. Fuji TV scheduled it for 11:15 p.m. Japan time, marking a move from the series’ long-running Sunday 9:30 a.m. slot to Sunday at 11:15 p.m. Those times are for the Japanese broadcast, not a worldwide release schedule. Fuji TV’s schedule
What changed after the 2025 return?
The six-month pause should not be mistaken for the anime’s ongoing release pattern. In an October 2025 announcement, Toei said that beginning in 2026 the series would move to two cours per year, with up to 26 new episodes annually, following a production hiatus from January through March.
