What chapter 957 reveals—and what it doesn’t
In chapter 957, titled “Ultimate,” Sengoku recounts the history of Rocks D. Xebec and the Rocks Pirates. The chapter establishes Rocks as the crew’s captain and connects the group’s history to major figures in the world of One Piece. It also identifies Marshall D. Teach as Blackbeard’s name.

Those details made a connection between Rocks and Teach a plausible theory, but chapter 957 does not state that Teach is Rocks’s son. Readers revisiting the chapter should distinguish what it established at the time from what later chapters revealed. You can read the chapter in One Piece Volume 95, which includes chapter 957.
What later canon says about Rocks and Blackbeard
Later canon, in the reveal associated with chapter 1154, identifies Rocks as Teach’s father. VIZ lists chapter 1154 with a release date of July 13, 2025. The concise answer is therefore: chapter 957 raised the question; later canon answered it.

That chronology matters: it would be inaccurate to say chapter 957 confirmed the father-son relationship, or to describe the question as still unresolved for readers following the manga through chapter 1154.
