Here is who they played, the film’s place in the franchise, and what can be said without turning undated or unverified claims into a “then and now” biography.
Which Ocean’s Eleven is this?
This is the 2001 Steven Soderbergh film, not the 1960 Rat Pack movie. The American crime film was released on December 7, 2001, with Steven Soderbergh directing Ted Griffin’s screenplay and Jerry Weintraub producing, according to the AFI Catalog. AFI lists a 112-minute runtime; Apple TV lists 1 hour 56 minutes, so the listings differ slightly. The film is rated PG-13.

The 2001 film is itself a remake: AFI credits the 1960 film’s screenplay to Harry Brown and Charles Lederer, based on a story by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell. Those earlier credits belong to the original film, not to Soderbergh’s cast.

Danny Ocean assembles a crew to rob three Las Vegas casinos. The cast’s appeal comes from the contrast among the crew’s specialties, Danny’s leadership, and casino owner Terry Benedict’s opposition. What “then and now” can—and cannot—establish
The film’s cast and roles can be identified confidently, but that does not by itself establish a current career update for each actor. A Yahoo-syndicated retrospective surfaced a reference to Matt Damon at a Broadway premiere in 2024, but the article could not be retrieved in full. That isolated search-result detail is not enough to build a reliable account of the whole ensemble, so it is not treated here as a verified cast-wide update.
For a genuine actor-by-actor “then and now” feature, each recent credit or milestone needs an attributable source and a date. Without those, a list of assumed career summaries would make “now” sound more current and certain than the evidence allows. The confirmed snapshot is the ensemble as it appeared in the 2001 film; no further recent milestones are included here.
How the ensemble continued in the franchise
The story continued with Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007), both listed by Warner Bros. Japan as sequels with returning cast members. That overlap makes the sequels a useful next step for viewers who want to see more of the ensemble, though the cited listing does not establish that every cast member returned for both films.

Before buying an imported set, check the disc format, region coding and player compatibility, plus the language and subtitle options. The Japanese listing supports the existence of this trilogy set, not a claim that it is a 4K edition or that it will play on every Blu-ray or UHD player.
