For a 24/7 Hindi bhajan stream, use OBS’s VLC Video source for a multi-file playlist, turn on Loop Playlist, and choose resolution, frame rate and bitrate using YouTube’s current encoder guidance and your computer’s stable upload capacity. Keep the computer and internet connection running, test the full playlist and reconnection behavior, and use only recordings and visuals you have rights to stream.
Choose the right OBS source for a looping playlist
OBS provides two relevant playback options. Its built-in Media Source can loop one file; for several bhajan videos in sequence, use VLC Video. VLC must be installed for that source to be available. The OBS guide documents a playlist, a separate shuffle control, and a Loop Playlist control. OBS Media Sources
| OBS source | Use it for | Important setting or trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One audio or video file | Enable its Loop control to repeat that file. |
| VLC Video | A playlist of multiple files | Enable Loop Playlist; leave Shuffle Playlist off for a predictable sequence. Requires VLC installed. |
Build and check the playlist
- Gather the video or audio files you intend to stream and confirm you have permission to use each recording and visual.
- Install VLC if it is not already installed, then in OBS add a VLC Video source and populate its playlist.
- Arrange the files in the intended order. Leave Shuffle Playlist off for a fixed sequence; turn it on only if you specifically want playback order randomized.
- Enable Loop Playlist, then preview the source through the end of the last item and verify that it restarts at the first item.
- Check that the audio is audible and balanced and that the video or artwork appears as intended in the OBS scene.
For one file rather than a playlist, use OBS’s built-in Media Source and enable its Loop setting. OBS’s media-source guide is dated January 11, 2022; interface labels may change in later releases.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live safely
YouTube Live receives an encoder feed using a stream URL and stream key. The key functions as a credential: keep it private, and reset it in Live Control Room if it is exposed. Prefer RTMPS if your encoder offers it. YouTube’s encoder setup guide and live stream settings guide explain the connection and stream controls.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Enable live streaming for the channel. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder stream and open its Live Control Room settings.
- In OBS, select YouTube as the service if available, or enter the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Use RTMPS where offered.
- For a scheduled stream, set and verify the title, privacy, latency, DVR, and auto-start/auto-stop options in YouTube Studio. Confirm how those selected options behave before relying on them.
- Start with an unlisted test where appropriate, then verify that YouTube receives the feed before making the broadcast public.
For a non-interactive playlist, low latency is generally less important than it is for a live conversation. YouTube cautions that lower latency can increase buffering, so choose the setting to suit the broadcast rather than selecting the lowest option by default.
Choose resolution, frame rate and bitrate for your source
There is no universal OBS bitrate preset for every 24/7 bhajan playlist. Match resolution and frame rate to the actual video or artwork and what the computer can encode reliably, then use YouTube’s current encoder settings table for the corresponding bitrate. Verify that sustained upload capacity comfortably exceeds the configured stream bitrate and leave room for ordinary network variation. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Resolution: Choose a size appropriate to the source. Upscaling a simple image does not add detail.
- Frame rate: Use a rate the source and computer can sustain; a static devotional image does not require a gaming-oriented frame-rate target.
- Bitrate: Look up YouTube’s current recommendation for the selected resolution and frame rate rather than copying a preset intended for a different workload.
- Encoder: Choose among the encoding options actually available on the computer and test stability. No single encoder is established as best for every machine.
- Upload connection: Test sustained capacity, not just a brief peak. Other household or office traffic can reduce the bandwidth available to OBS.
YouTube transcodes incoming live video into formats for viewers on different devices and networks; the encoder should therefore send a stable feed at a suitable input setting, not attempt to match every viewer’s connection.
Test the complete broadcast before leaving it running
A playlist loop is only one part of a continuous broadcast. OBS, the computer, media playback, the network and YouTube’s connection all remain possible failure points. OBS documents automatic reconnect as a configurable feature in its overview guide.

- Play the playlist through the last file and confirm that it returns to the first without stopping.
- Listen for silence, clipping, unexpected gaps or audio that is out of balance; confirm the visual source remains visible.
- Watch OBS for dropped frames and check YouTube’s stream health during the test.
- Review OBS’s reconnect configuration and verify what happens after a brief network interruption.
- Confirm YouTube Studio’s selected auto-start and auto-stop behavior with a test broadcast rather than assuming those options are enabled.
A dedicated computer, such as a mini PC, can serve as an always-on OBS host, but no particular model or minimum specification is established here. Hardware alone cannot guarantee an uninterrupted stream; the host and its network still need to remain operational.
Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
Do not rely on YouTube to preserve one complete 24-hour replay. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream over 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends making a local recording as a backup. YouTube’s live archive guidance

If a replay matters, consider dividing the broadcast into shorter segments or keeping a local recording. Before depending on local recording, check available disk space and test the recording and restart procedure. Ending and restarting a broadcast changes the continuous-stream setup, so verify how the chosen YouTube schedule and OBS workflow behave.

A devotional subject, traditional lyric or familiar composition does not automatically grant permission to stream a particular recording or arrangement. YouTube’s live-stream terms require the necessary rights for the content, including music licensing rights. Its copyright guidance says live broadcasts are scanned for third-party matches; a match can cause a placeholder, interruption or termination. Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| VLC Video is missing from OBS sources | VLC is not installed or OBS cannot access it. | Install VLC and reopen OBS, then check the source list again. |
| Playlist stops after the final file | Loop Playlist is off, or the source is not configured as a VLC playlist. | Open the VLC Video source settings, confirm the playlist and enable Loop Playlist. |
| Files play in an unexpected order | Shuffle Playlist is enabled or the playlist order differs from the intended sequence. | Turn shuffle off for fixed order and inspect the listed files. |
| OBS connects poorly or drops frames | The upload connection may be unstable or insufficient for the configured bitrate. | Compare sustained upload capacity with the selected YouTube bitrate guidance, reduce output demands if needed, and check stream health. |
| YouTube interrupts or terminates the broadcast | A third-party copyright match or another stream-connection problem may be involved. | Review YouTube’s notice and copyright guidance; confirm rights and any required Content ID allowlisting, then check the encoder connection. |
| A full-day replay is missing | YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours. | Use shorter broadcasts if replay availability matters, and keep a tested local recording backup. |
