How the puzzle’s hint mechanic works
Forbes reports that the grid is six rows by eight columns. Letters in a word can connect vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, and a path can change direction. Finding three valid words that are not theme answers, each at least four letters long, unlocks a hint highlighting a theme word. Forbes describes the spangram as the word that reveals what the theme answers have in common and connects at least two sides of the board.
